Many Democrat politicians are now pushing for vaccine mandates. Republican governors like Greg Abbott are taking a stand.
The New York Post reported, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday signed an executive order prohibiting mask mandates or COVID-19 vaccine requirements from government agencies and municipalities statewide.
Abbott issued the order Thursday, two days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended indoor mask mandates, regardless of vaccination status, in places with at least 50 confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people over the previous seven days.
The CDC now recommends indoor mask mandates regardless of vaccination status, however just weeks ago high ranking officials told the American people that vaccinated persons were safe from COVID-19 and the delta variant.
Over and over again bureaucracies send mixed signals to the American people and expect the rules to be repeatedly changed and changed back at the turn of a coin.
“To further ensure that no governmental entity can mandate masks, the following requirement shall continue to apply: No governmental entity, including a county, city, school district, and public health authority, and no governmental official may require any person to wear a face-covering or to mandate that other person wear a covering,” Greg Abbott’s order read.
Joe Biden has publicly supported vaccine and mask mandates at private businesses and has entertained the idea of a federal vaccine mandate.
The President said that “its still a question if the federal government can (vaccine) mandate the whole country,” but he seemed to imply that he would impose a mandate if he could.
