During Trump’s time in office, the use of fetal tissue in tax payer funded research was banned. There are clearly some ethical concerns here, Biden has since reversed this ban.
“HHS is reversing its 2019 decision that all research applications for NIH grants and contracts proposing the use of human fetal tissue from elective abortions will be reviewed by an Ethics Advisory Board.” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra had said Thursday that he opposed the Trump administration rules restricting the use of aborted fetal tissue” The Washington Post reported.
Following this ban in 2019, HHS also installed ‘ethics boards’ to oversee projects involving tax dollars from the American people.
This almost creates a conflict of interest between the government and the Abortion market.
Why would the government ever want to limit abortions if they are directly benefiting from discarded fetuses?
Dr. Tara Sander Lee claims “There are superior and ethical alternatives available such as adult stem cell models being used by countless scientists worldwide to develop and produce advanced medicines treating patients now, without exploitation of any innocent life,” Lee said. “All scientists should reject the administration’s attempts to prey on fears related to the pandemic to advance the practice of harvesting fetal tissue.”
This creates massive conflicts between pro life Americans who pay taxes. Especially christians. They believe that abortion is ungodly and immoral. While this is so they also have to struggle with the fact that their tax dollars contribute to research using aborted humans.
It seems to be a very barbaric practice. It’s not surprising that citizens are upset.
