The narrative he flipped once again as Joe Biden restricts travel from South Africa and 7 other nations amid new COVID-19 variant.
The Daily Caller reported, The variant, which was first identified in South Africa, is believed to be the most mutated coronavirus variant yet. The World Health Organization (WHO) named the variant Omicron on Friday and noted it is a “variant of concern.” The Biden administration’s announcement coincides with several other countries that have also declared travel restrictions due to the mutated virus.
The list also includes Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Malawi according to officials.
During the Trump era, travel restrictions were twisted to make the president appear racist while he mitigated the threat from ISIS and other terrorists groups.
Trump went under fire even as he closed our borders to countries like China amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result he was labeled ‘xenophobic’ by Biden himself.
Now, the travel bans are being invoked by a Democrat with COVID-19 as a justification.
Biden says that the travel restrictions come under recommendation of Doctor Anthony Fauci and advisors from the CDC.
The President also encouraged Americans to get their booster, and for unvaccinated citizens to get their first two doses.
