Following the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, many nations are working hard to evacuate civilians from Afghanistan. Some countries, including China and Russia, appear ready to formally recognize the Taliban.
Most countries are unwilling to recognize the rule of the militant group. On Sunday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned western nations not to “prematurely recognize” the Taliban as the leaders of Afghanistan.

Taliban delegates recently visited officials in Beijing and Moscow to reassure them that the group’s gains would not threaten Russian or Chinese interest in. Afghanistan.
Last month, a series of photos were published last month by Chinese state media showing Foreign Minister Wang Yi standing close to visiting Taliban officials.
The Kremlin said that there are no plans to evacuate the Russian Embassy in Kabul because the Taliban has promised diplomatic safety in the city.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a press release on Twitter saying it spoke with the Taliban and “respects the will and choice of the #Afghan people”.
The South China Morning Post quoted Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hua Chunying in an article, saying the nation will “take part in Afghanistan’s rebuilding and development process, and will not allow any forces to use Afghanistan’s soil to harm China”.
