CBS reported: “Hundreds of fraudsters are selling blank or forged versions of the cards over ecommerce sites including eBay, Etsy and Shopify, while also running advertisements for the fakes on Facebook, according to Saoud Khalifah, CEO of Fakespot, which uses artificial intelligence to detect online retail scams. And with names such as blmkcovidcard(.com) such sellers are hardly discreet.”
Third party selling websites claim that they have removed hundreds of sellers for selling falsified documents but they tend to come back under different names.
These vaccination cards are extremely easy to forge. They are printed on a small card stock piece of paper. They have information and the CDC logo at the top. There is not much expense. very simple, and very cheap.
The purpose of buying one if these forgeries is likely for those who fear the vaccine, but want to be able to get passed check points that require covid vaccination passports.
