Democrats Block Amendment That Would Prevent Non-Citizens From Voting

The top elections officials from the four states, Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio, said in a joint statement that the vote will go on Tuesday, saying they were confident the elections would be secure and safe amid fears of the coronavirus. Democrats in the House of Representatives have blocked a plan to remove foreign nationals from voter rolls.

The solution offered by Rodney Davis (R-IL) aimed to prevent hundreds to thousands of foreign nationals from voting in United States elections. Sounds like it should be a bipartisan issue right? Apparently not.

Why are individuals who are not U.S. citizens able to vote in the first place? Well, because Democrats allow them to of course.

In Illinois, roughly 600 individuals with citizenship were able to make their way into voter rolls according to officials. California’s DMV admitted that their state also let at least 1,500 foreign nationals vote. New York City recently approved a plan that would allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.

The New York legislation would allow the non-citizens to register with a political party and vote in city elections so long as they have a green card or have the right to legally work in America. The measure would not apply to any federal elections but raises major questions about who should be allowed to vote in state and city elections.

“Common sense will tell you that combining noncitizens and eligible American voters on the same voter rolls is ripe for abuse,” Davis told his colleagues when discussing the issue.

Democrats continue to astonish the country with their unnatural ability to break the law or look the other way when it is broken without any consequences. What could possibly stand in the way of such a seemingly obvious bill?
