Department Of Defense Equity Chief Has History Of Anti-White Comments

The chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer in the Department of Defense’s education branch has repeatedly called out white people on Twitter.

The tweets from Kelisa Wing, the DEI chief at Department of Defense Education Activity, were first reported by Fox News.

After the outlet reached out for comments, her Twitter account was made private and she declined to respond.

In one tweet from June 2020, Wing wrote “I’m exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions.”

“[T]his lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don’t have power,” the post continued.

“Caudacity” is a term that is used to describe audacity expressed by white people.

“[B]eing antiracist means being active against racism … you will NEVER arrive … stop centering this on whiteness,” Wing said.

In another post, Wing responded to a user who said, “I am exhausted by 99% of the white men in education and 95% of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?”

“If another Karen tells me about her feelings… I might lose it…,” she said.

At one point, a Twitter user criticized Wing’s article calling on teachers take part in “dismantling racial oppression” and claiming that “racism is ingrained in the very fabric of our country.”

“Bye Karen,” Wing responded.

She has also called former President Donald Trump the “whole boy version of a Karen” and his former secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, “the queen of Karens.”

In addition to her anti-white comments, Wing has co-authored several children’s books about race.

She wrote “What Is White Privilege?,” as part of the Racial Justice in America series, with Leigh Ann Dickerson.

“White privilege hurts a lot of people. If you are White you might feel bad about hurting others or you might feel afraid to lose this privilege,” the book said.

“Overcoming White privilege is a job that must start with the White community,” it added.

After a report said the book was removed for review by a Florida school district, Wing said “Honored to be involved with work that causes good trouble,” according to Fox.

“There is hope! By learning more about White privilege we can work to spend it,” the book said. “Privilege is like extra money in your pocket that you didn’t earn.”

When she was promoted to chief in 2021,  the DoD said Wing “has been involved with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for students and schools over many years, authoring several books on the topic.”
