In an interview with Newsmax, former President Donald Trump claimed that the California recall election is “probably rigged.”
Forbes reported, In a live phone-in interview on Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight, Trump told Rob Schmitt that “the ballots are mail-out, mail-in ballots…I guess you can have a case where you can make your own ballot. When that happens, nobody’s going to win except these Democrats…the one thing they’re good at is rigging elections, so I predict it’s a rigged election, let’s see how it turns out.”
Though, were the election truly rigged, it would be likely that Gavin Newsom would have been recalled in the first place.
The recall election will take place on September 14th, however, Mail in voting has already begun.
“When that happens, nobody’s gonna win except these Democrats. The one thing they’re good at is rigging elections, so I predict it’s a rigged election.” Trump said.
Many outlets passed the former Presidents word off as an absolute assertion. In fact his words were framed in the form of a prediction.
Trump was not claiming that the election was absolutely rigged with no doubt, just that believes it may turn out to be.
The former President did not offer any evidence for his claim, though he does not need to, because he’s not passing the claim as fact.
