When AOC complained about the big bad billionaire having control of a tech platform – Elon Musk did what he does best – A little trolling.
AOC tweeted, “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special.”
Elon promptly responded by telling the congresswoman, “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” but almost immediately deleted her tweet.
It would make sense that she was talking about Zuckerberg due to rumors that the owner of Facebook has hosted private dinners with Tucker Carlson and Lindsay Graham.
It’s unclear why she deleted her clarifying tweet, perhaps she decided that her initial tweet applied also to Elon – or perhaps she was embarrassed by the fact that Elon’s quip had gone viral in minutes.
The tweet’s timing did come only days after it was revealed that Twitter had accepted Musk’s offer, so it would not be unreasonable for him to assume that it pertained to him.
