Fauci Claims That The Pandemic Is Over, Then Walks Claim Back

Dr. Anthony Fauci announced that the U.S. was out of the pandemic phase, but shortly thereafter walked back his comments claiming that the pandemic isn’t quite over.

“In an interview, Fauci told Judy Woodruff with PBS the following: We are certainly right now in this country out of the pandemic phase. Namely, we don’t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now.”

The doctor continued, “So, if you’re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country, we are. What we hope to do, I don’t believe — and I have spoken about this widely — we’re not going to eradicate this virus. If we can keep that level very low, and intermittently vaccinate people — and I don’t know how often that would have to be, Judy.”

Less than 24 hours later Fauci decided that he had misspoken. He told NPR, “I probably should have said the acute component of the pandemic phase, and I understand how that can lead to some misinterpretation.”

Fauci himself admits that it will be nearly impossible to eradicate the virus, so at what point is the “pandemic” actually over? Will it ever be over?

His comments to PBS were a flicker of light for the millions of Americans who have been sick to their stomach due to the restrictions levied against them over the last two years.

At this point, the virus is fairly non-lethal, symptoms are mild but it rarely kills. The Omicron Variant seems to be the endgame, but the government doesn’t want to let go of its power just yet.
