Breitbart reported that a trucker convoy similar to the one seen in Canada is headed from Los Angeles to Washington DC in order to protest COVID-19 restrictions. Allegedly the convoy has more than 38,000 participants
“This doesn’t even need to happen. If the president said, ‘Mandates are over and the state of emergency is over. Let’s get back to the world and let’s do our thing,’ then we’re not even coming.” An organizer named Kyle Sefcik told CBS 9.
Sefcik indicated that he wants the President to know that they’re there. He indicated that the convoy would not gather at the Capitol, but rather outside the White House.
“We have to get the attention in the most peaceful way and this is our way of doing it. Do we want to stop businesses from being able to be open and people being able to get to work and school? No. We don’t want to cause this at all which is why we’re telling the president ahead of time to end this now. We don’t even have to come.” He added.
Sefcik said that the truckers will protest until the state of emergency in the U.S. ends and life goes back to normal in the land of the free.
The organizer is the owner of a gym in Maryland. He alleges that mandates placed on his business nearly caused him to lose all that he’s worked to achieve.
Americans have arrived at a point where they feel that if restrictions do not end now, they’ll never end. Life as a business owner, laborer, or even as a student has been miserable over the last two years.
