Democratic Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, was caught maskless in a photo with a group of friends and a staffer at a dive bar. The photo was given exclusively to Breitbart and was first reported by them.
The picture was uploaded to Facebook on Saturday but was quickly deleted. The staffer was identified as Whitmer’s Chief Operations Officer, Tricia Foster.
The image shows 11 other people huddled less than six feet apart from each other, all of which were maskless, which violates Whitmer’s mandates.
In Section 3.A.3 of Whitmer’s May 15 orders, says: “Consumption of food or beverages is permitted only where patrons are seated, groups of patrons are separated by at least 6 feet, no more than 6 patrons are seated at a table, and groups of patrons do not intermingle;”
A statement from Whitmer’s Office was released in light of the situation.
“Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols. Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it. In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human. I made a mistake, I apologize,” it said.
There is no evidence to confirm if the governor’s group was completely vaccinated.
A conservative advocacy group called the “Michigan Freedom Fund” had choice words to say.
Their executive director, Tori Sachs, told Breitbart, “Last week Whitmer refused to immediately end her ridiculous restrictions, like a maximum of 6 patrons per table for indoor dining. Now Whitmer has once again completely disregarded her own rules. Whitmer orders rules she and her staff don’t follow themselves while Michiganders and businesses suffer. Whitmer must end her restrictions immediately.”
They’ve since called for a total lift from all coronavirus restrictions, which Whitmer’s Administration has ignored.
