GOP Rep. Says Nancy Pelosi Pushed Her Daughter During Photo Op

A newly-elected GOP congresswoman accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of pushing her daughter during a photo op last week.

Texas Rep. Mayra Flores made the accusation after a video posted on social media showed her posing with Pelosi and her family at the ceremony.

The video shows Pelosi waving to someone when she looks down to Flores’ daughter and extends her elbow, appearing to push her.

“I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her,” Flores said on Twitter.

“She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen. No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!” Flores added.

The incident took place when Pelosi was welcoming Flores to the House of Representatives.

“It’s a great honor to welcome Congresswoman Flores to the Capitol and to the Congress of the United States with great congratulations,” she said. “And again, grateful for her leadership and her beautiful family who is here today”.

Flores, 30, is the first Mexican-born member of the US Congress. She won a special election earlier this month to replace Rep. Filemon Vela, who retired before the end of his term, according to the New York Post.
