Half Naked Man Parkours Across Los Angeles Rooftops After Setting Fire to Church Cross

Nobody should ever say that things couldn’t get more chaotic and destructive in California. They can.

An unidentified man leads police on a chase as he leaped from rooftop to rooftop after claiming four stories to the top of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and attempting to set fire to the cross which stands atop the building. The suspect, clad in only pants and a single sock, jumped and even repelled from multiple rooftops using various cables. The frenzied man appeared injured and exhausted as he could be seen on his back, breathless, after a number of jumps. Police managed to track the man thanks to the use of a police helicopter.

The crazed man was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Charges have not yet been announced, though attempted arson, vandalism, trespassing, and fleeing police are all on the table.

This account is just one in an exponential trend of bizarre and destructive stories sweeping across many American metro areas. Violent crime has, in some cases, already surpassed the totals recorded throughout all of last year. This is a pattern that shows no sign of slowing as the hottest of the summer months have only just begun. This largely unsuccessful incident is also one in a growing number of attacks on churches in the US and around the world.
