On Saturday, hundreds of people gathered in Times Square to protest COVID vaccine mandates and restrictions.
Protesters at the World Freedom Rally carried signs and waved flags as they marched in the street. Some were chanting “freedom over fear”.
A stage was set up for people to speak to the crowd with a sign reading “World Freedom Now!”. One woman exclaimed that everyone has lost their patience with President Biden, which prompted protesters to chant “F*** Joe Biden”.
This protest was part of a bigger chain, “World Wide Rally For Freedom”, which has taken place in multiple cities across the world. In Australia, protesters of COVID mandates recently clashed with police in the streets during a protest.
A press release about the Saturday event was posted on the organizer’s website, stating “We will push back against widespread propaganda, by producing our own media, and advancing our own narrative, instead of succumbing to the one being pushed on us”.
It also said “We will not accept the rampant politicization of science and medicine, and we will return these institutions to being neutral sources of information for the benefit of society, over government and corporate interests”.
