First Lady Jill Biden made a surprise trip to Kyiv despite Russia threatening to bomb the capital city without regard for Western officials that may or may not be present.
Russia recently said that if Ukraine disrupts supply chains north of the border, that smart weapons would be promptly used to destroy Kyiv. The Kremlin made clear that whether or not Western officials were in the city would not impact their choice to bomb.
Since then the Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense, Nancy Pelosi the Speaker of the House, and First Lady Jill Biden have made trips to the war-torn nation.
Why needlessly place high-ranking government officials in danger? Most of whom are fairly high on the presidential line of succession if the President were to perish.
This also endangers tensions between America and Russia. If Russian attacks were to result in the death of any of the before mentioned individuals it would undoubtedly result in war.
A war between Russia and America would be a world war, where both sides possess nuclear power.
