On TV and in the news we see an up beat Kamala Harris always smiling, and seemingly always happy. Off camera might be a different story according to her staffers.
Politico reported, “In interviews, 22 current and former vice presidential aides, administration officials and associates of Harris and Biden described a tense and at times dour office atmosphere. Aides and allies said Flournoy, in an apparent effort to protect Harris, has instead created an insular environment where ideas are ignored or met with harsh dismissals and decisions are dragged out. Often, they said, she refuses to take responsibility for delicate issues and blames staffers for the negative results that ensue.”
“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” said an anonymous person who allegedly has knowledge of how Harris manages her office and employees.
Allegedly, Harris often leaves staffers in the dark with a chaotic mess that they are left to unscramble.
Most recently, the Vice President decided to make a long awaited trip to the border. The last minute news blind sided the employees of her office.
Administration workers were forced to quickly formulate travel plans and construct messaging for the administrations plan.
According to Politico as a result of situations like this staff are experiencing low morale and low trust.
“It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s—.”
This is almost ironic, that the Vice President would treat her staff this way after the President delivered such passionate remarks on how workers should be treated back in January.
“I’m not joking when I say this: If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect or talk down to someone, I promise you, I will fire you on the spot — on the spot. No ifs ands or buts,” Biden said.
Little did he know it would be Harris that would treat her staff with such disrespect.
