Shark Tank star and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, told The Athletic on Monday; the National Anthem will not be played in any future home games. This is after they inquired about its absence from the last 13 games.
Cuban told the New York Times, “It was my decision, and I made it in November.” They also reported Cuban didn’t comment any further.
Tim Frank, the NBA spokesman said, “Under the unique circumstances of this season, teams are permitted to run their pregame operations as they see fit.”
White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, was asked about President Biden’s views on the situation.
She said, “That part of pride in our country means recognizing moments where we as a country haven’t lived up to our highest ideals.”
