Newsom Will NOT Be Recalled As Governor Of California

Governor Gavin Newsom of California, will remain in office, as he defeats the recall election intended to remove him.

“I want to focus on what we said ‘yes’ to as a state: We said yes to science, we said yes to vaccines, we said yes to ending this pandemic,” Newsom proclaimed.

Only Californian’s did not have to say “yes” to something like vaccines through an election. The vaccine is a choice available to everyone who’s body is medically able to receive it.

The ballots simply asked voters whether not Gavin Newsom should be recalled as Governor, and if so, who should replace him.

According to a Fox affiliate, about 60% of ballots counted, “no” on the question of whether to recall Newsom was ahead by a 2-to-1 margin. That lead was built on votes cast by mail and in advance of Tuesday’s in-person balloting, with a strong showing by Democrats. While likely to shrink somewhat in the days ahead as votes cast at polling places are counted, Newsom’s lead couldn’t be overcome.

Republican talk radio host Larry Elder almost certainly would have replaced Newsom had the recall succeeded, an outcome that would have brought a polar opposite political worldview to Sacramento.

Elder quickly conceded the race, and did not flaunt unfounded claims of voter fraud. When supporters booed, Elder quieted them. “be gracious in defeat.” He instructed.

In California, Democrat voters (46.5%) come in almost double the number of Republican voters (24%). A successful recall was always going to be an extremely difficult uphill battle in America’s most blue state.

While the recall failed, this momentum may carry over and show results during next years mid term elections.
