As the “People’s Convoy” made its way through Washington, D.C., this weekend, a lone bicyclist seemed to slow them down.
After traveling across the country, hundreds of truckers and motorists inspired the Canadian “Freedom Convoy” arrived in D.C. earlier this month.
As a way to voice their frustration with COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other issues, the convoy has driven around the area for the past few weeks.
In a video with over 4 million views, the single bicyclist can be seen riding in front of the convoy on Saturday.
As the bicyclist pedals down the street, the line of trucks slowly follows him with loud horns.
Another video, shared on Twitter by Philip Lewis, showed a motorist driving alongside the bicyclist and trying to speak to him.
“Hey, what are you doing? You got a a bunch of trucks behind you,” the driver said. The bicyclist responded that he couldn’t hear because it was “too loud”.
“Oh, it’s too loud huh? OK,” the motorist said before the clip ended.
Many D.C. residents have expressed their frustration with the convoy, including one woman on a bike with a sign reading “FluTruxKlan get a clue We HATE YOU”.
Standing with her bike in the crosswalk, the woman refuses to speak to any of the convoy members. Instead, she chooses to continue shouting “f*ck off losers” and “keep moving losers”.
At one point, she claims to have Mace spray in her pocket and says “I will Mace you b**ch!”
