We know the danger of remote teaching. The lack of classroom experience and full education. However, a new issue has emerged. It falls outside anything that may be observed in a traditional classroom. The lines between personal life and professional life are blurred.
Anyone in a zoom call could easily make a mistake. Unknowingly leaving their camera on while performing an act that they may not want the class to see.
The New York Post reported: “As students at the prestigious Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering remotely watched a “live” class, Amanda K. Fletcher, 37, “appeared to suck the nipple of an unidentified topless male” while she “rocked her head back and forth,” according to the Special Commissioner of Investigation for city schools.”
An educator, and a role model for young students (hopefully) unknowingly performed a sexual act during class, with her camera on. This would otherwise be impossible in a traditional classroom setting.
Students also reported that Fletcher, ate spaghetti with the shirtless man appearing behind her in the camera.
This unfortunate event occurred back in September 30th when the Department of Education has began the remote semester.
