Earlier this week ISIS-K attacked the Kabul airport killing countless Afghan civilians, and over a dozen U.S. service members.
Now America faced a threat from Islamic extremists allegedly already “in our country” according to a retired Army General Dana Pittard who shared his viewpoint.
Fox reported, After the Kabul attacks, some lawmakers in the U.S. expressed concern that terrorists might feel emboldened by the Kabul carnage to try to enter the U.S. and launch similar destruction on America soil.
“Suicide bombs in Kabul today—suicide bombs in the U.S. tomorrow. Biden must IMMEDIATELY secure our southern border before it’s too later!” U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, tweeted on Thursday.
General Pittard however fears sympathizers that already live within the borders of the United States.
He expressed that our borders need to be secure “but I think it’s a bigger problem radicalizing people who are already in our country.”
These are civilians living among us, walking our streets. They’ve already been radicalized and are on the path of radical extremism.
Pittard explained that those who seek to harm America need not cross the border, because they already live here.
This is a dangerous tactic used by groups like ISIS-K, ISIS, and Al Qaeda. Online recruitment is a powerful tool for those seeking to do evil.
Senator Ted Cruz however has concerns regarding refugees coming from Afghanistan.
“I’m very concerned that the Biden administration is bringing tens of thousands of refugees into the United States without thoroughly vetting them, (this) is an invitation to terrorist attacks here in the United States.”
In response, White House press Secretary Jen Psaki asserted that there would be thorough back ground checks in place.
