Senate Votes: Impeachment Is Constitutional

The senate has voted to move along with the impeachment process declaring it constitutional after 4 hours of arguments. In a 56-44 vote.

Six republicans turned their backs on the former president and chose to side with the democrats in this vote. Those republicans are: Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey.

Bruce Castor, one of Trumps lawyers claims “President Trump is no longer in office. The object of the Constitution has been achieved. He has been removed by the voters,”

Castor declares that this trial is lacking in purpose and constitutionality for this reason.

Democrats however say that there is precedent for impeachment’s like this, declaring that his “actions” cannot go without punishment

Of course again ignoring Trumps constant praise for peace and rhetoric that discouraged violence on January 6th. This impeachment has become the embodiment of the phrase “reaching”.
