Several Trump-Endorsed Candidates Win Primaries

Multiple Trump-backed candidates have come out on top in Tuesday’s primaries.

In Michigan, Trump endorsed candidate John Gibbs defeated Republican Rep. Peter Meijer, who voted to impeach the former president in 2020.

Under Trump, Gibbs worked as the acting assistant secretary in the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Meijer, an Iraq War veteran who was elected to Congress in 2020, was criticized for his comments that Trump was “unfit for office”.

Also in Michigan, Tudor Dixon, a conservative commentator and former online news host, won the state’s GOP gubernatorial primary.

“Fantastic night in Michigan! Tudor Dixon will be a great Governor,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Trump praised Dixon in April at a rally in Michigan, but did not endorse the candidate until Friday. Dixon will face Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in November.

In Arizona, venture capitalist Blake Masters won the GOP Senate primary. The candidate was also heavily supported by his former boss and tech billionaire Peter Thiel.

Masters will face off in November against Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, potentially leading the GOP to win back the Senate majority.

Arizona state legislator Mark Finchem was also endorsed by Trump. He won the Republican nomination for Secretary of State.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt won Tuesday evening in Missouri for the GOP Senate primary.

Trump reportedly declined to choose between Schmitt and former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, instead he gave his support to both of them, as he backed “ERIC” the night before.

As of Wednesday morning, it was too close to call Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial primary.

Kari Lake, a former TV news anchor backed by Trump, had 46.2% of the vote and Arizona Board of Regents member Karrin Taylor Robson, who was endorsed by former Vice President Mike Pence, had 44.5%, reported Fox News.

On Tuesday night, Lake said she is “winning this 100%” and claimed there is “no path to victory for my opponent. We won this race”.
