Smith doesn’t enforce wearing a mask in the gym which violates the New Jersey COVID-19 protocols and he reopened his gym when during the state’s lockdown. This led to the business being fined $15,000 every day that it didn’t abide by the protocols.

Smith told Tucker Carlson in an interview that going forward the defense fund will move forward with only using cash so that the same incident doesn’t happen again.

A spokesperson from the New Jersey Attorney General’s office said, “The State has not seized their bank account funds. However, the State has obtained judgments against the owners and intends to collect on them. The total due and owing as a result of court-entered judgments to date is $134,463.08.”

The next day after the interview representatives from the state said that the information given by Smith wasn’t true, that all of his money wasn’t seized but “frozen as a result of a bank levy having been issued due to the State’s collection efforts.”
