A prominent sports analyst now admits with regret his support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Stephen A. Smith, a renowned ESPN host, voiced his regret and the sentiment of many who felt they were tricked into backing the Democrat representative. Surprisingly, Harris – who failed to garner any votes in the past presidential primaries – became their preferred choice.
On the ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ show, Smith lamented that Harris came to be the Democratic nominee despite lacking a genuine endorsement via the party’s primaries. Harris, who bowed out of the 2024 electoral race prior to any votes being cast, demonstrated her lack of appeal amongst the voter base.
In Smith’s words: ‘Harris, who had no traction during the 2020 primaries and didn’t even make it to the first stage in Iowa, emerged unpredictably as the Democratic nominee. Then, at the convention in Chicago, everyone was singing her praises like she was a superstar. It left many of us puzzled and made us question- How did this occur?’
Smith further stated, ‘Indeed, I cast my vote for her, as did numerous others. But, in the aftermath, we’re left feeling like complete idiots for falling for such a ruse. If a genuine primary had occurred, it’s doubtful Harris would have emerged as the Democratic forerunner.’
While engaging in a discussion with Maher, Smith berated liberal advocates for their neglect of the issues which matter most to the American public. He argued that these critical issues were addressed by President Donald Trump, who emerged as a candidate closer to the political center.
‘Truth be told,’ Smith declared, ‘the man faced impeachment twice, he was found guilty of 34 felony charges, yet American voters still claimed he was more in sync with standard political norms than the leftist factions.’
In a post-election interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Smith proclaimed Trump’s victory as a resounding rejection of the Democratic Party. He asserted that Trump’s victory signaled the American people’s disinclination towards the Democratic Party’s ideology.
Smith said, ‘The American public has spoken and they’re not in favor of your agenda. They have rejected your political path and want to sever all ties with it. This is the harsh reality we all must accept. The choice has been made, the decision rendered and we are obligated to acknowledge it.’
