According to a new report, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson referred to the Jan. 6 committee as “bs” in a text message.
Hutchinson testified Tuesday that Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of the presidential SUV away from the driver in an attempt to get to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
In February, Hutchinson allegedly sent a text to a someone with connections to the First Amendment Fund, a group that helps Trump officials cover costs for Jan. 6 lawyers, reported the Daily Caller.
CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp said Hutchinson approached CPAC for help through the First Amendment Fund.
“I am pleased we did not assist her performance today. Relaying WH hallway gossip as fact does not qualify as first person testimony,” he tweeted.
In the text, Hutchinson said “Hey! This is Cassidy Hutchinson. Kind of a random question, but do you still work for the Schlapp’s at the ACU?”
The contact responded “Hi, Yes!” Hutchinson then asked “Do you happen to know a First Amendment fund POC I could reach out to?”
“I was subpoenaed in early Nov., but the committee waited to serve me until last week (after Ben’s deposition),” she continued.
“I had to accept service because the U.S. Marshalls came to my apartment last Wednesday, but I haven’t made contact with the Committee. I’m just on a tight timeline and just trying to figure out what my options are to deal with this bs,” she added, according to the photo posted by the Daily Caller.
Hutchinson also allegedly said that she did not want things to get “unnecessarily elevated” in regard to the Jan. 6 committee.
“Her Fake story that I tried to grab the steering wheel of the White House Limousine in order to steer it to the Capitol Building is ‘sick’ and fraudulent, very much like the Unselect Committee itself – Wouldn’t even have been possible to do such a ridiculous thing,” Trump said in a statement about the testimony.
