Trump Denies Request to Testify In Impeachment Trial

President Donald Trump and his legal team have decided he will not be testifying under oath during senate trial after a request was made.

Democrat Jaimie Raskin responded: “If you decline this invitation, we reserve any and all rights, including the right to establish at trial that your refusal to testify supports a strong adverse inference regarding your actions on January 6, 2021,”

Ali Pardo, a spokesperson for the former president told USA Today that the presidents reasoning lies with constitutionality, and not with fear.  “The President will not testify in an unconstitutional proceeding,”

Democrats in congress know that their impeachment is baseless. The president never called for violent action on January 6th. Their only option, is to control the narrative.

Trump consistently praised his supporters for remaining peaceful in their assembly. Most notably In pre protest speeches he stressed how important remaining peaceful was.

Senator Lindsey Graham, called the request for Trump’s appearance “a political showboat move,” explaining how the House did not bring any witnesses before their impeachment. He claimed it “would not be in anyone’s interest” for Trump to testify.

The entire impeachment is a political showboat. Not just the request for testimony. There is no legitimate case against the president, and yet after the first failed impeachment trial, we find ourselves witnessing another.
