US Drone Strike Against ‘ISIS-K Planner’ In Afghanistan

The U.S. issued an airstrike against an alleged ISIS-K “planner” after a suicide bombing in Kabul killed 13 U.S. soldiers and at least 170 others.

The two explosions at the Kabul Airport Thursday were believed to be from ISIS-K. President Biden spoke about the attack, saying “We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay”.

On Friday, Central Command spokesperson Capt. Bill Urban announced, “U.S. military forces conducted an over-the-horizon counterterrorism operation today against an ISIS-K planner”.

Urban added, “The unmanned airstrike occurred in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties”.

It was confirmed that the drone hit a vehicle transporting an ISIS-K leader and an associate. The leader was suspected to be “carrying out future attacks”.

Officials are warning of another attack and the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan issued a notice Friday telling citizens at 4 different airport gates to leave immediately.
