Some conservatives turn on Trump for attacking Ron DeSantis just before the midterm elections.
There was no good reason for Trump to attack DeSantis last night.
— Tim Young (@TimRunsHisMouth) November 6, 2022
Trump called Ron “Ron DeSanctimonious” while discussing the 2024 Republican presidential primary at a rally in PA.
1) There’d be no DeSantis without Trump.
2) Trump was marvelous president pre-Covid.
3) DeSantis arguably best GOP governor ever.
4) Trump surrendered his presidency to Covid.
5) 2020 election was a fraud.
6) DeSantis helped save country from Covid. This has been my Ted Talk.

“DeSantis is an extremely effective conservative governor who has had real policy wins and real cultural wins. Trump isn’t going to be able to take this one down with a dumb nickname. He better have more than that up his sleeve,” – Matt Walsh
Here is DeSantis's problem. If Trump runs DeSantis can't. If Trump doesn't run, he will make sure DeSantis loses.

“Also, nice job launching your public attack against the most popular conservative governor in America three days before the midterms when we’re all supposed to be showing a united front,” – Matt Walsh
Oh shit. Trump just attacked Ron DeSantis at a rally, calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious.”

“What an idiot. DeSantis is a far more effective leader of the Right than Trump was, if, that is, you expect a leader to get a lot done, rather than just talking about it and owning the libs.” – Rod Dreher
Neither is perfect, but I’d vote for Trump or DeSantis in 2024.
I don’t see how Trump attacking Desantis before a major mid-term is beneficial to Trump or America at large.
That is all.— Steven Crowder (@scrowder) November 6, 2022
“We’re winning big in the Republican Party for the nomination like nobody’s ever seen before. There it is, Trump at 71 percent, Ron DeSanctimonious at 10%, Mike Pence at seven, oh, Mike is doing better than I thought. Liz Cheney there’s no way she’s at 4%. There’s no way. There’s no way. But we’re at 71 to 10 to 7 to 4.” – Trump
I’m all for Trump attacking DeSantis two days before a vital midterm. He should 100% keep doing that
— Angry Staffer ? (@Angry_Staffer) November 6, 2022
One can assume he was just joking with this nickname because not much else was said.
I’m a big DeSantis fan. I don’t think Trump’s criticism of him right now is good political strategy. But if DeSantis is going to challenge Trump in a primary, this is what he’s up against. And neither one, honestly, has a solid Covid-era record to run on. That’s a fact.

I think it would be wise to wait and see what Ron and Trump say in coming weeks before cannibalizing the top 2 Republican candidates.
The media desperately wants a Trump/DeSantis war and for some inexplicable reason Trump is giving it to them.
He still doesn’t understand that they’ll never love him no matter what he does.
America First conservatives should present an impenetrable unified front.
— John Cardillo (@johncardillo) November 6, 2022
The Democrats are LOVING this, they have entire super-pacs dedicated to have Trump and DeSantis fight because it divides the conservative base.
DeSantis is not going to run against Trump. DeSantis is all bluster and uncomfortable smiles. Trump will do to Ron what he did to Marco, and Jeb, and Christie and Cruz. Ron won’t risk it. The GOP accommodated Trump. Gave him the keys. Now he’s not going to let them move on.
— Sarah Longwell (@SarahLongwell25) November 6, 2022
We would leave the Trump v Ron DeSantis feud as “undecided’ at this current state of time; everyone knows it would be a bad strategic move to do so, maybe Trump is just testing the waters.
The DeSantis/Trump 2024 debates will be can't miss TV.

Just know a divided Party is a Party that loses, hold off on outrage until we see more come from this.
