The Kyle Rittenhouse verdict was a glimmer of hope for Americans who wish maintain the right to self defense under law. Now, Democrats are calling for further action against the ‘Kenosha Kid’.
AOC and ‘the squad’ has blasted the system claiming that it is “protecting who it was designed to”, while other congress men and women call for an assertion of tyrannical government force over the 18 year old.
The Independent reported, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday said the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse on charges stemming from his killing of two men and wounding a third during civil rights protests last year shows the US justice system is protecting the privileged.
Jerry Naddler on the other hand, has called for federal charges to be brought against Rittenhouse.
The fifth amendment of the United States constitution, under its double Jeopardy clause ensures that no person may be prosecuted twice for the same ‘crime’.
“This heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by DOJ. Justice cannot tolerate armed persons crossing state lines looking for trouble while people engage in First Amendment-protected protest.”
It’s clear that congressmen Naddler lacks a fundamental understanding of the constitution, yet cited the documents in his argument.
All citizens of America have the right to peaceably assemble and exercise their first amendment right. This right also extends to Kyle Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse is legally permitted to carry his rifle both by way of Wisconsin law, and the second amendment.
Rittenhouse did it engage any peaceful protestors, the then 17 year old only ever fired when it was necessary to prevent grave bodily injury or death.
